KNOW WHY GLUE DOES NOT STICK TO ITS TUBE !

Glue is known for its instant sticking properties. They develop a strong bond to the area of application. But have you imagined why it does not stick to the container in which it is kept? Let's explore the reason behind this in the following article.

The regular glue is made up of a variety of chemicals called polymers. These polymers are long strands that are either sticky or stretchy. Glue manufacturers have to find just the right combination of sticky and stretchy polymers to make the best glue. Water is used with most of the glues to keep it in the liquid state.

When you put glue on a piece of paper, water is exposed to air. The water eventually evaporates. As the water evaporates, the glue dries and hardens. All that's left are the sticky polymers that hold things together. This process is called mechanical adhesion.

When white glue is inside a bottle, there's not enough air inside the bottle to cause the water to evaporate to make the glue sticky. Basically, the bottle protects the glue from the air and keeps the glue runny. If you've ever left the top off a glue bottle for a while, you may have noticed that, unfortunately, the glue dried up!

In glues like fevistick, water is not used. Instead of the polymers in fevistick, it contains a chemical called cyanoacrylate. This chemical tightens together when it reacts with water vapor in the air. This process is called chemical adhesion.

So, we saw air plays a major role in the sticking and hardening properties of glue. So now you know why glue does not stick to the container in which it is kept. Thanks for reading the article.

KNOW WHY HOTELS USE WHITE BEDSHEETS !

We generally see white bedsheets in hotels. But have you ever given a thought to why only white colour is used? It gets dirty faster, still, hotel owners prefer to use the white colour, why? Let us answer this question through this article.

The prime reasons for white bedsheets are as follows:

1.) White makes the environment bright: Changing the bedsheets make the entire room bright. Designs and patterns become more visible against white than any other colour.

2.) Standard of cleanliness: White bedsheets are one effective way for hotels to prove their standards of cleanliness. Much like how the wealthy used to wear all white to show that they could afford to keep it clean, hotels use all-white linens to show luxury.

3.) The Colour Psychology: According to colour psychology, white stands for purity and perfection. Imagine a clean room but with red or blue bed linen. Can you be sure of its cleanliness? White gives this assurance.

4.) Maintenance: These bed sheets have to be washed daily. So if it would be any other colour, it would fade out soon. There is no such problem with the white colour. That is the reason why towels are also white in colour.

5.) Easy washing: White colour can be bleached easily. Also, when hotel staff do the washing, they can throw bed linens, towels and any other dirty fabrics into the same washing machine without worrying about any colours running (as they all are white).

KNOW WHY CONSTRUCTION SITES ARE WRAPPED WITH GREEN CLOTHES INSTEAD OF ANY OTHER COLOUR !

You might have seen green-colored clothes wrapped around the building that is under construction. Have you ever imagined why this is done? Why only green coloured cloth is selected? Why not any other colour? In the following article, we will discuss the reason behind this.

The green cloth that is wrapped on buildings is also known as a safety net. Following are the reasons for wrapping it:

1.) Safety reasons: It is used as a covering to prevent any construction material from falling outside the site and causing any damages.

2.) Reduces dust: They reduce the dust coming out of the construction site. These clothes are sprayed with water when high dust work is ongoing onsite so the dust gets stuck in the wet cloth and a comparatively reduced amount spreads in the air.

3.) Cuts down sunrays: The green color of the cloth cuts down the sunrays to the structure resulting in better absorption of water in the walls during curing of the structure.

4.) Alert the public: People who are passing by become cautious of a construction site around, can take care of safety measures required.

5.) Prevents distraction: Construction team working can be kept away from getting deviated from what's happening around. The cloth allows air to circulate around, remains breathable.

6.) Suspense: Project's architectural look can be hidden till it is fully completed and open for all, a little suspense is always delightful.
You will definitely have the question that why black is not used instead of green. This is because green is easily visible from a distance compared to white or black. Apart from this, it also reflects on a little light.

So, now you know the reason behind the green clothes on construction sites. If you have any other reason, feel free to mention that in the comment box. Thank you for reading the article.
