YAMAHA MIDSHIP MUFFLER EXPLAINED !!

The term mid-ship means of course at the middle of the ship, and in this case, means that the muffler is located closer to the machine’s center of gravity.muffler (silencer in British English) is a device for decreasing the amount of noise emitted by the exhaust of an internal combustion engine.

For maximum stability the centre of gravity should be low as possible. In a motorcycle the engine weight is purely responsible for maintaining stability as it is the heaviestcomponent in a motorcycle, apart from that the position of the muffler plays a great role because it is one among the heavier components of the bike.
The midship muffler is placed exactly at the point of center of gravity where the entire weight of the bike is concentrated. So the stability and cornering can be increased to a greater extent, which makes handling of bike very sporty and easy. Moreover the construction of the muffler is very short when compared to other types.

The end of exhaust part is made light by using fiber components. so it's entirely a new design which provides a distinct look in Yamaha FZ16 and FZ-S series bikes.
